EDC just wrapped its three-day weekend in Las Vegas, and it was an over-the-top affair as usual. What started out in the 1990s as just another rave in Los Angeles blossomed into what some call the “American Ibiza,” and has gained the distinction of being the biggest dance party in North America. Although it has branched out to have satellite festivals in Colorado, Chicago, New York, the U.K., and Puerto Rico, its flagship event in Las Vegas is the biggest, and it’s the one to watch for the newest trends in live music events.
This year, Matrix Visual – the frontrunner in audio visual production companies in Los Angeles – had a hand in some of the biggest performances of the weekend. We set up 1,200 panels – including Absen A7 (7mm) and M15 (15mm) panels – on the spectacular Cosmic Meadow stage, which withstood winds of up to 40 mph during setup. We also provided Absen A6T (6mm) panels and LED video for the bassCon stage.
Working in conjunction with stage designers Stephen Lieberman and Gallagher Staging, among other collaborators in lighting and video content, Matrix delivered crystal clear, larger-than-life visuals to complement the in-your-face, boundary pushing psychedelic experience that EDC-goers have come to expect. We proved once again that Matrix is up to any challenge – the bigger, the better.
