The Official ESPY After Party
July 13th
The Official ESPY After Party was held July 13th at the Event Deck of LA Live. Hired by Akari, Matrix helped provide some of the stunning visuals throughout the event. The entrance tent to the after party was projection mapped using 2 – 18K projectors which displayed ESPN sports highlights from throughout this past year. The performance stage was projection mapped with content by the use of 4 – 12K projectors. Scenic archways with backlit cubes with front facing 3mm LED panels were featured throughout the event. The party was designed and produced by 15/40 Productions.
Comic-Con
July 21st-24th
Matrix provided gear for multiple activations for this year’s 2016 San Diego Comic-Con. The AV technology Matrix supplied helped some of the biggest names in the industry showcase their content in new and exciting ways.
Our featured Comic-Con client this year was Adult Swim. Matrix assisted with two of their activations. The first being their “Adult Swim Theater.” Matrix supplied an 18’x32’ LED wall that consisted of 190 – 5mm tiles which was part of their outdoor carnival during the day and in the evening, showed a glimpse of what is new and upcoming on the network. The second activation was called “The Dome Experience.” Matrix provided 3 – HD 20K Barco projectors that were used to display content the company mapped throughout the entire dome for people to watch and enjoy.
VANS US Open of Surfing
July 23rd-31st
Akari enlisted Matrix to supply some LED panels for the Vans US Open of Surfing that took place at the end of July. Matrix Visual provided 6mm panels for 2 – 7’x15’ LED walls. The two walls are set in a custom fabricated shipping container that Akari designed last year for this activation. Located in the Vans US Open Welcome Center, the LED walls run a 24 hour loop of Vans products and quick flicks of team riders.
